How it works

1. 01

   Booking

   Message us on WhatsApp or give us a call, and we'll agree on a day. We schedule each flight a few days in advance, so we can check the forecast.

2. 02

   The ride up

   You take the Kanzel cable car from the foot of the Bradul ski slope up to 1,800 m. The ride takes about 10 minutes and drops you right at take-off — no walking.

3. 03

   Briefing and take-off

   The pilot briefly explains everything you need to do. At take-off you just take a few steps, and then you're in the air.

4. 04

   The flight

   The flight lasts 20–30 minutes. The pilot looks for thermals — rising currents of warm air — and we gain altitude above Postăvaru Peak instead of gliding straight down to the valley.

5. 05

   Landing

   We land at the foot of the Bradul ski slope, next to the Centrul de Agrement (leisure centre). The ride back to your car is on us. You get your photos and video on WhatsApp, through a personal link.

Who it's for

For anyone who wants more than a view: more time in the air and the feeling of rising with a thermal, above the ridges.

• Weight: 30–85 kg for the person flying.
• Flying season: all year round.
• There is no minimum age. Minors can fly only with the consent of both parents or of their legal guardian, and one parent or the guardian must be present at take-off. The pilot decides whether the flight is suitable for the child.
• Tell us before the flight if you have a medical condition or circumstance that could make the flight unsafe: heart problems, epilepsy, pregnancy, recent injuries or surgery, back or knee problems that prevent you from taking a few running steps at take-off and landing. Do not fly under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication that affects your reactions.

Location

We take off near Postăvaru Peak, at 1,800 m, above the Poiana Brașov ski resort. We usually meet at the gondola base station in Poiana Brașov. We confirm the exact spot when you book — it depends on whether the gondola or the Kanzel cable car is running on the day of your flight.

How much does The Thermal cost?

The Thermal costs 800 RON (about €150), with photos and video of your flight included. During the ski season, the ride up is included in the price; outside the ski season, you pay for your own lift ticket at the lift's base station.
